Team Swannies Feature: For The High Achiever That Wants To Push The Limits And Improve Their Performance
If you are in search of inspiration to crank your life up a notch, this article is for you.
We gathered a few members of Team Swannies who are high achievers (like you) that shared with us how they prioritize their health and improve their performance, which includes wearing Swannies — the leading brand of blue light blocking glasses.
Our Team Swannies Feature on the blog today includes Brian Hain, Heather Hippensteel, Mattie Conklin, and Shannon Taatjes.
Let’s dive in.
Brian Hain
How Swannies Changed Brian’s Life
From an early age, Brian has been actively searching for improved methods and the best modalities to boost his health. This life-long journey led him down the wellness coaching path where he strives to help other Go-Getters investigate their lifestyle and optimize their health.
That’s why it didn’t surprise us at all that he wanted to join our Swannies Tribe.
Even though Brian slept well at night, he admitted that he felt wired whenever he used his digital devices before bed. But after having worn Night Swannies for 18 months, Brian wrote that he felt a remarkable difference:
“I spend on average 4-5 hours in front of a phone and computer combined during the day. I’ve noticed that I can wind down easily even if I decide to do a little device time (I try not to do it in bed). My sleep metrics from my Whoop reflect increased REM and SWS sleep when I wear the Swannies.”
To further boost health and happiness, Brian prioritizes time with his two boys in the mornings and maintains a nightly routine. He wrote, “I’m not perfect, but the most consistent ones are ‘Epsom salt bath’ 5-6 times a week every evening, and drinking water within 30 minutes of going to bed (12 to 24 oz).

If you set an intention to harbor good habits that will foster wellbeing, you give yourself the power to achieve a state of higher performance. This is exactly what Brain Hain has realized. 👏 While Brian enjoys his nightly read on his e-reader device, his Night Swannies protect his eyes from the excessive blue light it emits. Studies have shown that there is still enough blue light emitted from e-readers to have adverse effects on your sleep, melatonin production, and disrupt your circadian rhythm. Be like Brian and get the Swannies edge! 👊 Link in bio. There’s no doubt in my mind that podcasts have moved to the top of the list of the best life hacks of recent years. Plus, it’s a great way to learn and grow even on the go!
Brian’s go-to podcast is the #1 iTunes health podcast, The Genius Life by Max Lugavere. Max is a filmmaker, health and science, the author of the New York Times best-seller Genius Foods: Become Smarter, Happier, and More Productive While Protecting Your Brain for Life. Now we know why Brian aims for the sky as an entrepreneur. He makes sure he includes himself in circles of Movers and Shakers. In fact, we were delighted that Brian found us in Max’s circle.
Apart from tuning in to The Genius Life podcast, Brian’s current Kindle reads include ‘A Year of Living Consciously’, ‘Claim Your Power’, and ‘Me and White Supremacy’.
Undoubtedly, Brian never intends to stop learning, discovering, and growing in both his personal and professional life. This is what sets him apart from those that stagnate.
Visit Brian’s website for more details and follow his journey on social media if you need guidance:
“Your health is in your hands. Whether you are just starting this particular health journey, looking to break through a plateau, or ready to take the next big step in optimizing your health and fitness, I am here in service.”
Heather Hippensteel
How Swannies Changed Heather’s Life
As a Pro Athlete and Coach, Heather values the importance of quality sleep to recover faster, boost her performance, and show up for her people. Her health mindset led her to try her first pair of Night Swannies 2 years ago, and especially since she spends between 10-12 hours a day in front of digital screens. She was hooked when she noticed she fell asleep much quicker, experienced deeper sleep, and her overall performance improved.
Heather also blocks artificial blue light during the day with a pair of Day Swannies to reduce the effects of digital eye strain, and naturally increase productivity. With that, she relies on her to-do lists to prioritize important tasks to get stuff done.
As someone who takes pride in her complexion and overall well being, Heather never skips her skincare routine at night and fuels her body with coffee and a collagen protein creamer first thing in the morning. Heather knows the key to success is to prioritize her health. Her performance counts on it!
Here’s How Heather Adds Extra Value To Her Life
It comes to no surprise to us that the Joe Rogan Experience is Heather’s favorite podcast. Joe is an American comedian, actor, sports commentator, martial artist, and television host. Most entrepreneurs will tell you that drawing inspiration from other experts in the field is a great way to add value to your life.

I’ve been reminded a lot more the past few weeks of Psalm 46:10 – “Be still and know that I am God.” This busy girl has been forced to slow way down, as we all have! I’ve added more yoga into my daily home routine that I had to create for myself.🧘🏼♀️It’s been a great way to start or break up the day and work on balance, focus, and flexibility! And while learning and growing are necessary for steady progress, unwinding with a good fantasy novel is a great way to end a busy day. Reading is known to be similar to meditation. It can lower stress and depression, improve self-esteem, and even help you sleep better. Bonus! Heather enjoys reading Harry Potter to relax and the Bible to maintain a strong connection with her faith.

How Swannies Changed Mattie’s Life
We applaud Mattie for being open to vulnerability on her Instagram account, revealing the truth behind the entrepreneurial journey. Mattie owns her insecurity and grows with it. We all have our own set of insecurities and I believe if we don’t acknowledge them, they’ll run our lives.
Mattie shows us how being your own boss can be a real challenge, but with the right mindset and the willingness to ask for help, you can defy the odds. Because sometimes even a coach needs a coach!
As Keto Queen, and Mom, Mattie knows she has to prioritize her well being to be the best she can be to care for her children and show up for her clients.
With her health in mind, Mattie tried Swannies Blue Light Blocking Glasses and after only 2 months she no longer experiences headaches and sleeps 7 hours straight. Yes, quality sleep is not a luxury but a necessity.
Mattie’s keen interest in leadership books also sets her up to be a successful leader in her circle.

7 good habits that will make you more successful. 1. Put pen to paper. After you’ve decided what success means to you, you’ll need to create some reachable, measurable goals. 2. Develop a consistent wake-up routine. Mornings are powerful. 3. Take the power back from social media. 4. Challenge yourself. 5. Include exercise in your routine. 6. Embrace failure. 7. Take control of your finances. I’m not going to sit here and say these things won’t prevent you from failing….because you will…and you have to be ok with that! But the important thing is, is that we have to keep trying! Thomas Edison failed 1000 times and that 1,001 time, the light bulb was invented! Reggie Jackson struck out 2600 times in his career but people remember the home runs! Here’s the thing, THEY DIDN’T QUIT, they created a habit of getting back up after they fell and they became successful! It takes 21 days to create a habit, but 100 days to make it a lifestyle!
