When Co-Founders and brothers, James and Tristan Swanwick, first heard about the serious harmful effects of blue light, a deep concern overwhelmed them.

The thought that their everyday electronics could potentially be a danger to their health was enough reason to dig a little deeper.

The critical clue that left us sleepless

 
Before the arrival of artificial lighting, the sun was the major source of lighting, and people spent their evenings in relative darkness. Now, our evenings are illuminated, and we take our effortless access to digital devices for granted.

We discovered that our sleep may be paying a price for basking in all the blue light at night.

As the sun disappears, your body goes into a mode of sleep preparation. Ideally, blue light exposure should be limited as much as possible at night to ensure a healthy sleep-wake cycle. Unfortunately, aligning ourselves naturally is somewhat challenging in the digital age, especially if you’re prone to digital separation anxiety.

Research reveals that artificial blue light suppresses the secretion of melatonin, a hormone that influences circadian rhythms. Blue light wavelengths, which are beneficial during daylight hours, seem to be the most disruptive at night.

In other words, our beloved electronics housing all our favorite apps, tools, TV shows, and games, keep us awake at night. Studies link working the night shift and exposure to light at night to several types of cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and obesity.

If that made you switch off right away, I don’t blame you for it. Heck, I salute you for it! But if you’re still with me, I promise reading to the end will be worthwhile.

These findings inspired the Swanwick brothers to find a solution faster than ASAP.

Unbelievable!
I heard about Swannies from a few podcasts and was curious. I track a lot of data (mostly using a Whoop fitness band). After about two weeks worth of use, my deep sleep has increased anywhere from 2-3 fold a night. I would recommend these to anyone who spends a significant amount of time in front of a screen, particularly if you work into the late hours. I was skeptical – but the data speaks for itself. I’m sleeping better than I have in a long time.

Eye strain gone!
I have worn these glasses for two weeks now and noticed the eye strain relief immediately. Now I can’t look at the computer without them. I have also noticed an improvement in my deep sleep number when I wear these 3 hours prior to bed. Thank you, Swanwick!!

Very cool glasses!!
I feel awesome when I use them at night… I can sleep way better, and my eyes feel much more rested… To be honest, the difference when I don’t use them is HUGE!!

IMPORTANT: It’s normal that you feel a little bit weird when you have the glasses on and you look in the mirror 🙂 After you get over that and you realize that nobody cares, it’s just wonderful!

Stylish and epically effective!
As a long-time bio-hacker, I’ve known about blue blockers for a while but never pulled the trigger (as most frames are a bit too corny looking!) since I’ve been pregnant, I’ve been waking up, up to 8 times per night with insomnia-like symptoms. Ordered these babies online and wore them for 2 hours before bed and slept like a baby, only waking up once the first night from wearing them. The second night I slept all the way through!

Definitely recommend. Even if you are mindful about not doing screen time an hour before bed, the normal lighting inside and outside your home is enough to keep you up! Helped me a ton! And they look great 😉

More restful sleep
Was a little weary at first. Holy c$@p! I put them on just as the sun is setting, and I am so tired come bedtime. And I contribute this to having a much more restful sleep.
