Thankfully, the innumerable hardship of 2020 is behind us. But will you take it with you into the new year or will you break the pattern to master your mindset?
For me, this year will be about the celebration of life and to view challenges with an optimistic lens. In other words, to embrace the fresh start and manifest a healthy mindset. Optimism is an attribute known to propel people towards success, as co-founder of BiOptimizers and a guest on Swanwick’s The Edge Podcast, Wade Lightheart, keenly observed.
Here are 6 invaluable growth mindset tips to help set yourself up for success throughout the year.
1. Avoid The Negative Nellies
Most of our thoughts are habitual patterns wired in us by the people we spend the most time with. Consequently, what you expose yourself to can either lift you to your highest potential or lowest depth.
Make time to review your day, analyze the patterns, and dive deeper into your time spent with people. Avoid the negative Nellies and welcome those that lift your spirit. Choose your circle wisely this year if you want to optimize your mindset.
2. Turn Negatives Into Positives
When you catch yourself complaining about something, for example, the gloomy weather, add a positive sentence at the end. This simple action can help you rewire your mindset to notice the good in every seemingly unfavorable situation. Like the rainbow at the far end of a heavy dark cloud.
Yes, stress is a normal part of life but remember that whatever negative thought you lean to will more than likely manifest itself.
3. Continuously Upgrade Yourself
Albert Einstein once said: “If you always do what you always did, you’ll always get what you always got.”

We can all agree that personalized health is the way of the future.

While the digital age subtly extends our days, hormones and rest cascades.
This means that blue light exposure emitted by digital devices at night disrupts circadian rhythms – the body’s natural internal clock – which can lead to poor sleep. You might already know about the consequences of poor sleep habits, but here’s a quick reminder.
A study published in the Neuropsychiatric Disease and Treatment emphasizes that sleep deprivation impacts cognitive performance. In other words, your attention, memory, motivation, self-evaluation, mood, and overall health and mindset are significantly impaired if you don’t prioritize your sleep.
Here are a few easy ways to optimize your sleep:
- Remove digital distractions from your bedroom
- Replace your normal bulbs with anti-blue light LED bulbs
- Avoid alcohol and caffeine at night and rather sip on delicious sleep tea
- Wear blue light blocking glasses in the hours before bed
